July 25, 2011

CELEBRATION, Fla. — B.A.S.S. LLC announced today that Owner Hooks has signed on as a Supporting-level Sponsor of the B.A.S.S. Federation Nation events presented by Yamaha and Skeeter Boats through 2012.

“Owner American Corporation is pleased for the opportunity to become a sponsor of the B.A.S.S. Federation Nation. We love the direction of the new B.A.S.S. management to go back to ‘the grass roots’ to promote bass fishing from the entry-level anglers all the way up to the top professionals. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the new B.A.S.S.,” said Kat Shitanishi, president of Owner American Corporation.

Owner American Corporation has devoted two decades in the effort to develop a line of high-quality, high-performance fish hooks for freshwater and saltwater anglers. The company prides itself on making extremely sharp hooks and using the highest quality high-carbon steel wire to make the strongest hooks by wire diameter. Black Chrome finishes, CUTTING POINT® hooks, TWISTLOCK® centering pin springs are all Owner firsts.

As part of the deal with B.A.S.S., Owner Hooks will have on-site activation at B.A.S.S. Federation Nation events presented by Yamaha and Skeeter Boats.

“The B.A.S.S. Federation Nation is important to the industry because these are the grass-roots anglers paving a future for bass fishing,” said Jerry McKinnis, who with Don Logan and Jim Copeland purchased B.A.S.S. from ESPN in November 2010. “We’re happy that reputable brands like Owner American Corporation support that future.”

The next B.A.S.S. Federation Nation event taking place is the Northern Divisional on Mississippi River Pools 18 and 19 out of Fort Madison, Iowa, Aug. 10-12, 2011.
