Lake Norman Tournament Results – March 17, 2023
Spencer Black (boater) (Hickory NC) and Nick Bashford (non-boater) (Charlotte NC) are headed to the (no entry fee) 2024 BASS National Championship to fish for two of the three BASS Master Classic Invitations that will be up for grabs Both were crowned Lake Norman Champions and under the new format adopted by BASS earlier this year, they are headed straight to the fight for those top three spots. The NC BASS Nation will hold three qualifying events and the winners go straight to the National Championship. You must be a member of BASS ($15), BASS Nation ($30) and NCBN ($15) to participate. The tournament entry fee is $105 per member or $530 for 6 members. From our three tournaments, 20 or more of our North Carolina Bass Nation members will have the opportunity to advance to the BASS Master Classic! If you have a goal or would like to fish in the Greatest BASS tourney of all times, the BASS MASTER CLASSIC, this is your chance. Don’t miss out!!
Also, at the Norman event, the top three boaters and non-boaters including the winners are invited to the BASS regional (location not determined yet) where the will be fishing for the 20 invitations to the BASS National Championship plus the winning boater takes home $40,000+ plus and the winning non-boater taking home $20,000+ with a full boat filed. You want to fish The BASSMASTER Classic! You next opportunity will be on Kerr Lake May 11th and 12th out of Flemingtown landing. Come test your skills.
Lake Norman – March 17th: On the boater side: Spencer Black claimed the title with a total weight of 16.55 pounds. He also had the big fish with a 6.40 pound largemouth. Second place went to Dalton Eury with a total weight of 14.28. Dalton is a college angler at CVCC. Third place went to local angler David Hendrick of Cherryville with a total weight of 14.18 pounds. Fourth place went to Lane Bailey with 14.08. Lane bailey is a college angler with CVCC as well. Congrats to these guys!
On the non-boater side: Nick Bashford won the championship with a total weight of 8.33 lbs, second place went to Logan Hendrick of Cherryville NC and third place went to Rick Rhome of Thermal Belt Bass Masters out of Lincolnton NC. The big fish on the non-boater side went to Jessica Ebert with a 3.71 spot. Congrats to these guys!
Next up is Kerr Lake on May 11th and 12th. Gaston Lake is your last chance and will be fished as a team tourney on June 2nd.
